Archaeologists have come out with a new version of stone henge. The wooden version of the stone henge was being discovered by the archaeologists. A circular ditch which is less than one kilometer from the original stone circle is found.
The circular ditch was discovered by the archaeologists with the help of the virtual technology. The newly found wooden replica may be dated back to the Netholithic period which is about 2,000 to 4000 years ago. The wooden replica of the stone henge is remarkable finding feels the project leader.
The project leader Vince Gaffeney is a professor of archeology from the University of Birmingham. The discovery of the replica may change the way of thinking around the stone henge said the professor. The new stone henge has internal pits which is a meter wide which may be used for timber posts. The virtual mapping technology is worth three year multi million euro project.
