Amazon and Apple deal under scrutiny
Apple and Amazon are the leading players in the e-book market with their iPad and Kindle products. Now these two companies have signed up definitive agreements with all the leading book publishers with suspected provisions for further lower pricing of contracts by these publishers with other rival e-book providers.
The Connecticut Attorney general is expected to look into the issue in the coming weeks, and notices have already been served to the e-book majors and also to the publishers who have signed up with these two large technology players.
