White Stripes

Guest post written by Paul Nielson

My all-time favorite bands is the White Stripes. Some people are quick to call their musicianship elementary, but I think the simplicity of the group size, instrumentation and Jack White’s vocals are a combination that truly makes the band’s sounds something special.

Although I didn’t get on the WS boat as early as I’d like, I have all their albums and keep up on all of their separate projects with my satellite internet Wisconsin. When it comes to Jack White, that can become a full-time job because he always seems busy with something new and different weather it’s The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather or a surprise show with Conan O’Brien in Nashville. Meg White – who is actually Jack’s ex-wife instead of his big sister like he claims on stage – stays busy too, but Jack is definitely the more active of the duo.

A while back when their live album came out, I was having trouble streaming a free preview on a website, so I decided to Get Wild Blue.

When it comes to the future of The White Stripes and both of its members, I honestly have no idea what to expect given their track record thus far.
